Hearing Aid Disinfectant Wipes
Hearing aids must be cleaned thoroughly on a regular basis, especially any part of the hearing aid that comes in contact with the ear canal where ear wax can accumulate. A custom hearing aid must be cleaned entirely with a disinfectant wipe at least weekly. The custom tip or earmold of a behind-the-ear style hearing aid must also be cleaned with a disinfectant wipe weekly. For more information on the different styles of hearing aids, click here.
It is crucial to use wipes designed specifically for hearing aids, as they are specially formulated to gently sanitize hearing aids without damaging them. Alcohol wipes and other disinfectants are too harsh for the materials of hearing aids and therefore must be avoided.
