While disposable batteries are still commonly used, rechargeable hearing aid batteries are becoming increasingly popular. Please note that not all hearing aid brands and styles are designed to be rechargeable. Some hearing aids can be retrofit to become rechargeable. Please contact one of our clinics for more information.
Silver-zinc batteries look very similar to traditional disposable zinc-air batteries and must be inserted into the battery door of the hearing aid. The hearing aid(s) must then be placed in a charging station every night. A silver-zinc rechargeable battery lasts approximately one year. As it nears the end of its life, the battery will no longer hold a full charge. When this happens, the battery must be replaced.
